The Ministry of Water and Power has invalidated the report published in Business Recorder titled "Ghazi Barotha triggered February 23 blackout: report" on March 9, 2013, in which the findings of the enquiry committee regarding total system collapse on February 24, 2013 have been stated.
It is clarified that in the first instance; the enquiry committee has not yet submitted its final report, whereas the interim report is a fact finding report and does not include any such conclusion, as highlighted by the newspaper.
The blame on the Wapda Chairman for influencing the enquiry is also denied and it is underlined that the enquiry committee headed by Member (Power) was constituted by the Ministry of Water and Power and is liable to submit its report to the Ministry. The committee is carrying out its investigation independently.
