Toxic sweets claim life of one child

A child died while 21 others including women and children are in critical condition after eating poisonous sweets in a suburban village of Ghotki. The incident took place in village Sharif Mehar where one Habibullah invited his co-villagers to share his happiness over the birth of his son.
Habibullah distributed sweets bought from a shop in a near-by village, Adilpur. One-and-a-half-year-old Salahuddin died after eating the toxic sweets while 21 others became seriously ill after partaking it. The ill persons were shifted to hospital. Doctors referred three critically ill persons to Sukkur hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the sweet-seller closed his shop and escaped.
