Senate panel approves Islamabad university bill

The Senate's Standing Committee on Education and Training on Wednesday unanimously approved the 'Capital University Islamabad Bill 2013' (private member bill). The committee met with Abdul Nabi Bangash in the chair where the Capital University Islamabad Bill 2013 (private member bill), referred by the House in its sitting held on March 11, was discussed.
The committee thoroughly discussed different sections of the bill. The Chairperson of the committee said that an emergency should be imposed for five years in the education ministry for promoting education. The committee observed that only through education, illiteracy could be overcome and there was a need for diverting funds from other sectors. The ministry informed the committee that because of the active interest of the Senate, improvement was witnessed in the education sector.
