District Coordi-nation Officer (DCO) Lahore, Noor Ul Amin Mengal has stated that the City District Government Lahore is making arrangements regarding wheat procurement and the distribution of gunny bags will be ensured on purely merit basis. He expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding wheat procurement here on Friday, disclosed an official. The Assistant Commissioners (AC), District Food Controller (DFC) and other were present on this occasion.
The DCO directed the officials concerned to constitute a committee at district and town level. He also said Assistant Food Controller should report to their concerned AC and Assistant Commissioners should arrange proper godown for hoarding of wheat. DCO also nominated ADCG Asfand Yar Bloach as focal person in this regard. Meanwhile, in another meeting the DCO Lahore said the district administration would attain high profit by handing over parking stands of the whole city to Lahore Parking Company.
"Those parking stands earning annually Rs 40 to 50 million would provide profit up to Rs 8 billion after the handover," he added. He directed the concerned administration to cooperate with the Lahore Parking company for the possession of parking stands from qabza mafia. "All parking stands would be handed over to the company as early as possible," he added.
On the occasion, representative of the Lahore Parking Company briefed the DCO Lahore that they have started work only on 12 parking stands till now. Before that these parking stands were providing the profit of Rs 30,000 per month to the district administration, but now these parking stands had been providing the profit of Rs 1.15 million.
