Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to celebrate Pakistan Day with traditional zeal
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa decided to celebrate the Pakistan Day on Saturday the 23rd March 2013 throughout the province in a befitting manner. There will be a public holiday and besides holding variety of other events to mark the occasion, National Flag will also be hoisted on all principal, public and private buildings in the province.
According to the details of program, solute of 21-guns will be performed early in the morning on Pakistan Day at the provincial capital and thanks giving prayers will be offered in all places of worship while sweets will be distributed at Orphanages and Dar-ul-Amans and prisoners will be served with special meals throughout the province. To celebrate the historic Pakistan Resolution, the Governor and the Chief Minister of KP will host special receptions at the provincial capital.
Investiture ceremony for Civil Awards in categories of Presidency Award for pride of performance and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz will be held at Governor's House, Peshawar and will be presided over by the Governor KP. The print media will highlight Pakistan Movement through their special editions while electronic media will broadcasts/ telecasts special programs on this occasion. Besides Qirat competition, debates, essays and mushairas, special exhibitions of photographs, documents etc; relating to Pakistan Movement will also be held. In this regard, all the concerned and authorised quarters have been directed to ensure that people belonging to all walks of life get an opportunity to wholeheartedly participate in the Pakistan Day celebrations.
