University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that the university will develop a 'natural history museum' for education and training of students and professionals and research on natural history and biodiversity.
The Vice-Chancellor said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a three-day training workshop on "Taxidermy and Natural History Development" organised by the UVAS and the Pakistan Wildlife Foundation in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission, Urdu Science Board and Directorate of Biodiversity here on Thursday.
He said that this workshop would be helpful in developing the museum in the university, besides providing training to the participants and making a network for professionals. He said that wildlife is a related discipline to animal sciences but had been ignored in the past. Emphasising on developing linkage with related industry and other institutions, Professor Pasha said that the UVAS always welcomed collaborations as in this high-tech age progress is only possible through collaborations.
