Expressing grave concern over continuously targeted killing of people belonging to Shia sect, members of the community have demanded immediate arrest of killers, and to provide adequate security at their residential areas, and worship places.
Addressing at a press conference here at press club on Thursday, the Imamia Raabta Council, Convenor Major Syed Husnain Haider Kazmi (Retd) said that the government and law enforcement agencies have completely failed to protect the lives and property of the people.
He further said the unending killing of people belonging to Shia community, was a matter of grave concern and great failure of security agencies, to stop the sectarian violence. "We will not tolerate more killing of Shia Muslim in the Peshawar, and elsewhere in the province", he warned. Accompanied by members of IRC Syed Zahir Ali Shah Kazmi, Barkat Ali Mir, Syed Ibrar Hussain, Syed Azhar Ali Shah Kazmi, Mirza Nasir Baig, he said the law enforcement agencies have become helpless before a small group of terrorists involved in targeted killings in Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta. We strongly condemn the killing of Khawaja Ali Imran belonging of Shia community, and other member of the community fallen prey of target killing within a month in Peshawar, he deplored.
He criticised the police and security agencies had yet to arrest killers, despite occurring of a number of incidents of targeted killing in the province. He also expressed anguish over the kidnapping of a member of Shia community from University town area, Syed Sarfaraz Jafari, which was created great unrest amongst Shia community, demanding safe recovery. "We will not register FIR of any other incident of target killing", he said. We have no more trust upon the police and security agencies. He said that if further incident of targeted killing was happened, they would put bodies in front of foreign mission of Arab States and UN offices, in protest.
