Jamaat-i-Islami Khyber Agency has demanded of the authorities to start registration of conflict-hit people from Tirah valley and to establish a makeshift camp with the provision of all facilities. Addressing a press conference here at the press club on Thursday, the JI leader from Bara Khyber Agency, Shah Faisal Afridi said that a large number people had been displaced due to the present conflict situation in the Tirah valley.
Despite the huge displacement of people, he said that the authorities were yet to start relief activities and had also not established a proper shelter facility for the displaced people from the agency. He said that humanitarian organisations had launched their operational activities for the immediate provision of food and non-food items. Afridi asked the Fata Disaster Management Authority and Provincial Disaster Management Authority to immediately start the process of registration of conflict-affected people from the Tirah valley.
Flanked by JI tribal leaders, Bacha Afridi, Shahjehan Afridi and others, he said that a conspiracy was being hatched to destabilise more peaceful areas by plunging them into internal conflict. He asked the government to establish a separate shelter facility, and to ensure adequate supply of food and non-food items to affected people at their makeshift camps.
