Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Lahore, Chief Executive, Professor Dr Bilal Zakaria, has said that heart diseases are on rise and there is a dire need to use new and modern techniques to cure these heart problems. He expressed these views while addressing the concluding session of a three-day workshop on the topic of heart diseases at PIC here on yhursday.
Professor Dr Bilal Zakaria said complications related to heart beat and valves are getting out of control which needs to be treated by adopting healthy habits along with medical remedy. The salient feature of the workshop was the participation of the Indian heart expert Professor Mohan Nair in the event.
In the interest of keeping pace with the most modern technology and updating the expertise of faculty members of PIC, Professor Dr Mohan Nair, Chairman Cardiology Division, Sakat City Hospital, New Delhi, India has also been offered as honorary visiting faculty member of Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
