Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, former Justice Zahid Qurban Alavi on Friday presided over a high level meeting regarding transition arrangement in Local Government department held at Chief Minister House. The meeting was attended by Secretary Local Government Sindh Ali Ahmed Lund, Secretary Finance Sindh Sohail Rajput, Principal Secretary to C.M Naveed Kamran Baloch, Commissioner Karachi/ Administrator KMC Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi, Secretary Law Syed Ghulam Nabi Shah and others.
The Chief Minister directed the Commissioner/ Administrator to make Karachi a clean city and all garbage be taken from various localities, streets and trade and commercial centers immediately. He said that Karachi was a cosmopolitan city, centre of business activities and providing jobs to people coming here from various parts of the country.
He made it clear that he wants Karachi city a neat and clean else action will be taken against negligent, careless and violating persons. He further directed Secretary Local Government to implement similar action in various towns, cites, UCs through out the province.
He said that transitional arrangements period may be allowed for 15-days so that day to day affairs of Local Government bodies are solved, while officers could be declared as administrators to run the working. He further directed that Local Government department has to play important positive role, as such the transition system be completed within 15-days and no further extension of period will be allowed.-PR
