On the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Ministry of Interior transferred the heads of FIA, police and immigration with immediate effect. These heads were appointed by the former political government of Pakistan People's Party.
Additional Secretary Ministry of Interior Saud Mirza has been appointed as Director General, Federal Investigation Agency. While, Mohammad Anwar Virk was transferred and posted as Co-ordinator, National Counter Terrorism Authority. In another move, Inspector General of Police, Islamabad Bani Amin was transferred and Captain Zafar Iqbal (Retd) has been appointed as new IGP, Islamabad Capital Territory.
