Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has claimed that Pakistan will change in the next five weeks as the passion of PTI will defeat forces of status quo in the forthcoming general elections. He expressed the views while addressing a convention of PTI Tabdeeli Razakar (volunteers of change) on Friday.
While addressing the PTI youth, he announced that up to 40 per cent of the total party tickets have been awarded to young candidates aged not more than 35 years, instead of 25 per cent. He also said most of the PTI candidates will be contesting the elections for the first time.
"We have kept our words of bringing a change through our actions and not just giving a lip-service. Promotion of youth in the party will make new leaders of future in Pakistan," he added. According to him, the May 11 elections will be a classic match between the forces of change and status quo, and the ideological people will prevail over them. In the past, the status quo forces shared power to build their personal empires and had no interest in the wellbeing of masses.
Imran disclosed that next week PTI will unveil its manifesto and after they will formally announces the final list of party candidates for the general elections. "Many criticised over the party for being high-jacked by some people, they are correct as it is high-jacked by the youth," he added.
He promised to base his government on merit and justice, which will take Pakistan to new heights. He observed that if only governance is improved and corruption eradicated from the country, a huge foreign investment will flow in to the country, especially from the overseas Pakistanis. "After that, we will no longer need to bow our heads before any superpower or follow the dictates of IMF," he added.
Imran said the PTI Tabdeeli Razakar would not allow poll rigging and added they will change Pakistan. He disclosed at present there are 200,000 PTI volunteers and by the end of three week they aim to boost the figure to one million. He urged them to carry out door-to-door campaign.
