Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) delegation led by its President Zafar Bakhtawari participated in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) Expo. ICCI delegation also called on High Commissioner of Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Shahid Kayani, to discuss the possibilities of enhancing bilateral trade between Pakistan and Malaysia, says a press release issued here on Saturday.
Speaking at the occasion, President ICCI said that Pakistan and Malaysia should further strengthen the mutual trade relations by promoting business. Bakhtawari urged the Pakistani High Commissioner to encourage Malaysian counterparts to visit Pakistan and invest in the fields of their interests as well as stressed that Malaysian people should also visit Pakistan for tourism which would further strengthen the brotherly bonds between the people of both the countries. He said that Pakistani Embassy in Malaysia should also pursue liberal visa policy so that more people could visit our Pakistan. ICCI President also stressed the need for further co-operation by Malaysian Air Line to make possible for Pakistan to have direct air link which was suspended since last two years.
He also informed that ICCI have planned to host a meeting of ASEAN Capital Chambers Conference in Islamabad with the aim to promote mutually beneficial relation between Pakistan and ASEAN member states. The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Malaysia assured that he would do at his best for promotion of business interest of Pakistani business community.
