Iraq on Sunday executed seven people convicted of terrorism-related crimes, the Justice Ministry said. "Courts found them guilty of committing murders and bombings against innocent citizens," the ministry said.
The hangings raised to 42 the number of inmates put to death since the start of the year, according to the ministry. Iraq executed at least 129 people last year, double the number recorded in the country in 2011, according to the human rights group Amnesty International.
