Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of police has claimed to arrest three alleged extortionists here on Sunday. According to the details, an SIU team on a tip-off conducted raid in Shershah area and arrested three alleged extortionists; Salman Abid, Umair Iqbal and Munawar alias Nadir 'Gapoki'.
SSP SIU Farooq Awan said that the accused belonged to Lyari gang war.
He said that the accused were also involved in hurling of hand grenade near 'Mukka Chowk' on March 16, besides various incidents of extortion.
Awan further informed that hand grenades, 9 mm pistols and a 30-bore pistol were also recovered from their possession.
