Caretaker Minister for Industries and Production Sindh, Khalid Tawab, has said that the federal government would soon release Rs one billion allocated for infrastructure development of industrial zone. Speaking at a dinner hosted by Chairman Shan Paper, Rehan Jawed Shaikh, Tawab said that he would strive hard to get released funds for Karachi's industrial zones (Rs 250 million for each zone) so that their development work particularly dilapidated road network could be repaired.
He pointed out that the provincial government had provided Rs 250 million each for infrastructure development of four industrial zones of the city including Federal B Area, Korangi, North Karachi and Landhi.
While federal government had also assured to provide matching grant, but the samme had not yet been disbursed He assured industrialists that he would soon proceed to Islamabad to meet caretaker Prime Minister and apprise him about business community's issues and problems. Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on I.T., Mian Zahid Hussain said that though caretaker government has very short time yet he would strive hard to set some good precedence.
He said the most important task before the caretaker government is to hold fair and free elections in a peaceful atmosphere. Speaking on the occasion the leader of business community and former president FPCCI, S M Muneer, advised business community and general pubic to exercise their right and elect only honest and patriotic candidates in the forthcoming elections.
He expressed that law and order condition has improved considerably in the city after take over by caretaker government. He pointed out that crime rate in the city in general and specifically in commercial and industrial areas has registered a significant decline.
He advised the caretaker government to take appropriate measures to further improve law and order. Chairman Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Mohammad Zubair Chhaya, expressed the hoped that the caretaker government would make every possible effort to fully maintain law and order and hold peaceful elections. He said that it was encouraging that many representatives of business community have been inducted in the caretaker cabinet. Caretaker Ministers Sardar Yasin Malik, Iqbal Dawood Pakwala, President FPCCI Zubair Ahmed Malik and Rehan Jawed Shaikh also spoke on the occasion.
