Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah delivered seven state of the art mobile hospitals; each fitted in a single vehicle and also encompassing x-ray and other quality medical accessories to the Directorate of Health Services(DHS), Fata at Governor's House, Peshawar on Tuesday. Each mobile hospital will be manned by both lady and male doctors and the relevant paramedical staff.
It merits a mention here that the entire lot is a part of a project which is funded by German grant to the tune of Euro 5.38 million under which solar energy system and medical equipment will also be provided in one year time to fully functionalise 20 out of the existing mother child healthcare centres as well as 100 health houses each being administered by leady health workers as a part of the ongoing efforts to improve healthcare services in Fata.
The Governor also inspected some of the equipment displayed as a token of the facilities to be provided under the programme.
Representatives of the Ministry for Development and Economic Co-operation of the Federal Republic of Germany, especially the country co-ordinators and senior officials of BMZ, KFW, and GIZ were also present, besides Principal Secretary to Governor, Muhammad Abid Majeed and the Secretary Social Sector, Fata, Aftab Akbar Durrani on this occasion.
The Governor was informed that with this the total strength of mobile hospitals in Fata has reached to 21 out which two each are deployed in Bajaur and Mohmand and one in South Waziristan agencies while the remaining are placed in three different segments at Jamrud from where they moved to different parts of Fata to serve the people on regular basis.
