Former PML-N MPA Rizwan Gil, who was convicted in fake degree case, surrendered before police here on Tuesday. Police shifted the former lawmaker to Sargodha District Jail.
District and Session Judge Abdul Sattar had sentenced Gil to a total of nine years in prison and fine of Rs 15,000 over possession of fake degree.
Gil had escaped from the courtroom after hearing the verdict.
Police conducted raids for his arrest without any success. But on Tuesday he appeared before District and Session Judge along with his local leadership and handed himself to police. The Cantonment Police shifted the ex-MPA to District Jail.
