New DCO Faisalabad Najam Ahmad Shah has taken over the charge of his office here on Tuesday and he held a meeting of District Election Co-ordination Committee to review the matters relating conducting the free, fair and impartial elections in peaceful environment in the district.
The DCO directed the concerned officers to conduct the joint study regarding identification of the actual sensitive polling stations in the district keeping in view the past history and present situation and comprehensive list should be finalised so that strict and elaborated security arrangements could be made to avoid any untoward situation at vulnerable points.
He directed that secretaries of Union Councils should be assigned duties to complete survey of the polling stations in their jurisdiction and to submit report regarding the available and non available necessary facilities at the polling stations.
He urged that the election code of conduct should be got implemented in the district under which wall chalking, display of oversize banners/billboards/posters, show of weapons and public meetings without permissions were strictly banned. The DCO informed that the monitoring teams would be acted from 10th April and any violation of code of conduct would be reported through uploading the pictures with reports on the internet system.
Among others the meeting was also attended by CPO Raja Riffat Mukhtar, EDO Finance Ayub Khan, DOC Akram Bhatti and officers of different law enforcement agencies. Moreover, DCO Najam Ahmad Shah informed his priorities while presiding over and other introductory meeting and said that education, health, urban planning and development would be main areas of focused for providing relief to the public and boost the social sectors.
He stressed upon the concerned officers for giving special attention on the revenue generation and advancement of the solid waste management system. He asked the TMAs officials to launch a vigorous campaign for removal of the encroachments from the bazaars and other public places by taking the shopkeepers and traders into confidence.
He said that illegal housing schemes should be discouraged besides taking action against the owners of the under construction buildings being constructed without approved design and permission.
