The State Bank of Pakistan has said that non-economic factors such as poor law-and-order situation continue to hamper commercial activity. According to SBP''''s second quarterly report on the State of Economy Pakistan, the frequency of nation-wide strikes and law & order incidents in the main cities of the country, have reduced the number of working days in the first half of FY13 compared to previous years.
Proxy indicators such as bomb blasts, suicide attacks and number of bomb related fatalities, which may have led to disruption in economic activity, show significant increase from the previous year, it added.
