An Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) on Saturday summoned all accused in Benazir Bhutto murder case including former president Pervez Musharraf, to the next hearing. ATC judge Chaudhry Habibur Rehman while hearing the case issued summons for former president Pervez Musharraf and other accused as Musharraf had already been summoned twice in the case. He still failed to appear before the court on Saturday's hearing. The court adjourned the hearing of case till April 23.
Chaudhry Zulfiqar, prosecutor Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), talking to media, said the court had issued permanent arrest warrant of Musharraf. Under the law Musharraf is bound to appear before the court to obtain bail before arrest, he said. The ATC had indicted Musharraf in the case in February 2011, and in August the same year he was declared a proclaimed offender and his property was attached because of his absence. Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in a gun-and-bomb attack outside Rawalpindi's Liaquat Bagh on December 27, 2007.
