The Jamaat-i-Islami, MQM, PTI and PPP have launched their election campaign in various constituencies of Southern Punjab, as their candidates have visited party election offices and attended public meetings. PPP's Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani former prime minister began his electioneering from Jalalpur Pirwala, Shujabad and he was trying to get elect his two sons and a younger brother from Multan.
JI candidate for NA-149 (Multan) Liaquat Baloch, who is also secretary-general of Jamaat Islami Pakistan, presented the party manifesto to the notables of the area during a meeting here on Friday. PML-N candidates Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan, Begum Tehmina Daultana said that the real change could only be brought by electing honest and sincere leadership and the PML-N is an ultimate option to change.
He further said the people are facing inflation, poverty, load shedding and terrorism while the merit is being ignored. However, the Muslim League (N) leadership will address all such issues of the people after coming into power. People desire to provide bright future to their next generation then they should vote PML-N candidates on the day of polls, he added.
On the occasion, the notables of the area assured their full support to them and its candidates. Meanwhile, MQM's Iftikhar Randhawa who is contesting from Jehanian said that the country would be prosperous and wealthy by the elimination of poverty, inflation, extortion and terrorism. The MQM will make the country prosperous after coming into power. Randhawa stated this during his visit to a free medical camp organised by MQM.
On the occasion, the leader stressed upon the need of vote for the MQM candidates to make the city and country peaceful and developed. He said the MQM always selected honest and sincere persons among the mediocre to contest general elections. PTI leaders Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Khan Tareen have also launched their election campaign in Multan and Lodhran.
