The disgruntled workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday warned that they would further intensify movement, if the party central leadership not heed to address their grievances regarding unfair awarding of tickets in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing at a press conference here at Press Club on Saturday, the leader of PTI "Save Movement" and the party president from town IV, Peshawar, Fazal Elahi, along with dissident workers, said that the party provincial parliamentary board did not take office-bearers at town, Union Council, Tehsil and district level, and nominated names for awarding tickets across the province. He said the decision created great unrest among the activists and workers.
He said the activists and workers from all districts, including Malakand, Swat, Lakki Marwat, Hazara and Tank, fully support the ongoing movement against the elements involved to weaken party through any anti-worker steps in the province. "We also held a meeting of the party presidents from tehsil and district levels, informed. He added that the workers have decided if the party central leadership not fulfilled their demand before finalising the tickets, the movement would be expanded to entire K-P province.
Flanked by Dr Inayatullah, Kalsoom, Nazo Bibi, and other workers, Elahi said there are elements in the party, involved to mislead the central leaders regarding the ground realities and internal situation. But, he said the PTI chairman assured that the tickets would be awarded on the basis of merit in the entire Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the PTI central leaders have always given great respect to the party activists and workers, expressed the hope that they would see better outcome by their negotiations with Chairman Imran Khan on this particular issue. The party leaders opposed all those decision which went against the workers in the past, and inculcated a great democratic culture as compared to other political parties in the country, he maintained. Elahi said they would expect from the party central leadership to take any decision on the basis of merit and to address their grievances regarding unfair distribution of tickets in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
