The funeral prayers of police officials martyred in yesterday Yakatoot bomb blast was offered here in police lane on Wednesday. The funeral prayer of Station House Officer Abid Khan and four other police personnel offered in Police lane Peshawar where ANP leader Haroon Bilour, Chief capital city police Liaqat Khan, IG Police Ihsan Ghani and other high ranking officers were present.
After the funeral prayer the dead bodies of the martyred police personnel were shifted to their respective areas, where they were laid to rest with official distinction. Among the 50 injured persons 31 have been discharged while the remaining 19 injured persons are still admitted in the hospital where all basic facilities of life are being provided to them.
Meanwhile Kotwali Police station registered FIR of the deadly suicidal attack through complainant Sub-Inspector Nezar Ali. The FIR was registered under Section 427-224, 302 and 7-ATA of CRPC. A high level meeting of police officer was also held in police line in which they reviewed the security situation for Peshawar city. The meeting decided to increase the number of check posts and barricades on various routs besides increasing police patrolling. The meeting also directed politicians and leaders to avoid their public meetings at open and crowded location and they were allowed to keep five volunteers security guards along themselves.
