Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President and former Punjab chief minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, who was in the city on Wednesday for his party's parliamentary board meeting, visited Raja House to finalise the names of the consensus candidates in Sindh.
In an informal chat with mediapersons, Shahbaz said he didn't see the postponement of elections, adding that PML-F and PML-N along with small groups will jointly contest the elections and throw out those corrupt politicians who plundered the country ruthlessly.
A large number of politicians belonging to Ten-Party Alliance were present on the occasion however interestingly, representative of JUI-F, which had announced separate candidates in Sindh, was also present. PML-N's Syed Ghous Ali Shah, Qaumi Awami Tehreek's Ayaz Latif Paleejo, PML-F's Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh, Sardar Rahim, Kamran Tessori, Salim Zia and others were among the prominent leaders who were present on the occasion.
Sharif informed journalists that an exchange of views was held between the two with respect to current political situation. We have agreed to enter into the race jointly and by the grace of Almighty Allah and under the able leadership of Pir Pagara, we would defeat those who looted the country.
He parried the question over a deal under which it has been decided that this time situation would be vice versa, PML N would run for centre and PPP in the province. Pir Pagara, the spiritual leader of Hur Jamaat and chief of PML-F when asked if elections were rigged, said that 1977 elections were also engineered but this time the people are more educated and well aware of political manoeuvring and if 2013 elections manipulated, people would not let those come onto streets who played dirty politics, he said.
Terming the caretaker set-up in Sindh a continuation of Zardari government, he alleged that those in power were involved in land scams and the present chief minister was also involved in land scam.
With regard to seat adjustments in Karachi, both the leaders said that everything had been settled and they would announce mutual candidates in a day or two.
