Perks, privileges: Supreme Court seeks record of cancellation of notifications
Disposing of a matter pertaining to perks, privileges and security protocol for former premiers and federal ministers on Thursday, the Supreme Court sought record from federal interior secretary of the cancellation of notifications in relation to perks and privileges.
A five-member bench led by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of a suo motu. During the hearing, the Chief Justice remarked that nobody was above the law. He warned that no officer would be spared if found guilty of ignoring court's orders. The bench decided to take up the matter of perks and privileges to Speaker and Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly during the hearing of Karachi law and order case.
