Provincial Caretaker Minister for Information Technology, Mian Zahid Hussain, has said that out of the 48 provincial departments 38 have been computerised so far. He said that the provincial government was taking all measures to develop and promote use of information technology in the provincial government.
He said that so far, 510 police stations had been provided with computers and FIR could be lodged through computers. Talking to newsmen, he informed that IT department was organising 'Young Developers Conference 2013' in Karachi later this month wherein young software developers of the province would be encouraged to come forward and display their creative work.
He said that besides encouraging young developers, schools and colleges would be provided with Google Apps free of cost. He informed that with the assistance of Google the ministry of IT would impart training to the trainers who then train the staff of various functionaries of provincial government. He said that video conferencing facility would also be provided in Sindh governments departments so that all departments could be interlinked.
