The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Dr Riaz Ahmed Memon has directed the deputy commissioners and SSPs to prepare their Election Security Plan with the consultation and approval of District Security Committee of their respective districts with a view to have free, fair and transparent elections. This he directed while presiding over 2nd Divisional Election Co-ordination Committee at Shahbaz Hall, Shahbaz Building Hyderabad on Thursday.
The Regional Election Commissioner Hyderabad, Atta-ur-Rehman, all deputy commissioners, SSPs of the districts in division, additional DIG Hyderabad police and other officers of lined departments attended the meeting and participated in deliberations. The matters including maintenance of law & order situation, security of all stakeholders were discussed in detail.
Addressing the meeting, the divisional commissioner Hyderabad said that to maintain law & order was job of district administration concerned and directed the deputy commissioners and district police officers to remain in close co-ordination with Election Commission and Judicial officers. He also directed them to identify the bottlenecks if any they are experiencing in this task and to report with immediate effect so that same can be resolve before the time. He also asked the officers to facilitate the Election Commission of Pakistan in implementation and monitoring of code of conduct in letter & spirit and also to follow the orders of Returning Officers in this regard.
