The Karachi Port handled 153,726 tonnes of cargo comprising 105,926 tonnes of import cargo and 47,800 tonnes of export cargo including 6,066 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 105,926 tonnes comprised 46,983 tonnes of containerised cargo; 21,746 tonnes of general cargo; 28,500 tonnes of bulk cargo and 8,697 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 47,800 tonnes comprised 29,049 tonnes of containerised cargo; 315 tonnes of general cargo and 4,386 tonnes of bulk cargo and 14,050 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,066 containers comprising 3,460 containers import and 2,606 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The brakeup of imported containers shows 1,126 of 20's and 1,092 of 40's loaded while 30 of 20's and 60 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 742 of 20's and 508 of 40's loaded containers while 212 of 20's and 318 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There are four ships with one container ship, one cement carrier and two oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There are three vessels with one container ship and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. There are three ships namely Cape Verde, Sea Maple and Nadeem with one container ship, one general cargo ship and one cement carrier are expected to sail on Saturday. There are four vessels viz Santa Rosa, Seattle Bridge, Amanda and Kalamas with three container ships and one crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 33,692 tonnes comprising 30,609 tonnes of import cargo and 3,083 tonnes of export cargo inclusive nil loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 30,609 tonnes includes 24,490 tonnes of furnace oil and 6,119 tonnes of phosphoric acid. The total export cargo includes 3,083 tonnes of wheat. One ship namely CV Michaela with containers sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours, while another ship namely MV High Ruby Park with chemicals sailed out to sea on Saturday morning.
A total number of four vessels viz MV Mercy Wisdom, MV High Ruby Park, MT Karachi and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey are currently occupying berths to load/offload wheat, chemicals furnace oil and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as three ships namely Chembulk Singapore, Asphalt Merchant and Diamond Sea with acitic acid, bitumen and rice are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There are three vessels viz CV MSC Levina, MV Chembulk Singapore and Diamond Sea with containers, acitic acid and rice are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) respectively on Saturday. No ships namely due to arrive on Saturday as per arrival schedule.
