A, two week's long constant anti malaria mosquito campaign would be launched from April 29, 2013 in all Talukas of Hyderabad district with a view to root-out the menace of mosquito and malaria disease from the district. This has been decided in a meeting presided over by Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Dr Riaz Ahmed Memon at Shahbaz Building Hyderabad here on Friday.
The Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Nawaz Soho, Assistant Commissioners of all Talukas, officers from local government and health department attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Dr Riaz Ahmed said that as many as 22 anti malaria spray teams each equipped with spray machines, chemicals vehicle have been constituted to conduct the spray at each nook and corner of the district. In addition to that five big machines one for each Taluka and headquarter would also be put in place to make the campaign more success.
The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad directed the Assistant Commissioners of concerned Talukas to ensure that vehicles, spray machines and chemical is available to their teams for the job. He said that in addition to own resources, required vehicles and spray machine can be borrowed from other districts if needed. He asked the officers to identify the areas where movement of vehicles cannot be made due to narrow streets so that required number of motorcycles could be arranged.
He further said that this anti malaria campaign was also the chain of cleanliness drives already lunched in Hyderabad district. He said that main purpose of these campaigns was to reduce the health bill of individuals and organisations. He said that safe drinking water, efficient sanitary and drainage system, cleanliness were the main issues for his administration and same would be resolved on priority basis.
Meanwhile, the Dr Riaz talking the delegation of HDA union at his office said that proper recovery of the water dues was the only solution of the problems of Wasa workers. He said that irony is that Wasa was passing from deficit since last many years, thus has accumulated the workers problems. Dr Riaz also informed that the officers of provincial government have been asked to keep budgetary provision for the payment of water charges.
Presiding another meeting regarding maintenance and repair of government residential quarters/colonies, Dr Riaz expressed his apprehensions over the deteriorated conditions of government residential quarters due to paucity of the required funds for the maintenance. He directed that the repair of the houses be made as per approved map and alteration if any be discouraged. He also formed 3 members committee for follow up of the job and providing lacking facilities at Circuit House Hyderabad.
