A one-day seminar series was held on Development in Pakistan and Women Inclusive Strategies along with the exhibition of women entrepreneurs in Islamabad on Friday. A seminar was organised by the Centre for Policy Studies, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Islamabad campus.
Participants of the seminar presented their papers on different themes such as: The role women play in the socio-economic development of Pakistan; The need for developing strategies to further tap the talent and potential of women workforce of the country; The link between women inclusive strategies/policies and development, growth and progress; The central position of women in nation building and stable and peaceful societies; and How women can act as agents of positive social change. Rector CIIT, Dr S.M. Junaid Zaidi (SI) was the chief guest of the seminar.
He addressed the gathering and said that we need to form polices to enhance female role in different fields of life generally and in field of Science and Technology specifically. Seminar was also attended by Dr Masuma Hasan, Melissa Kelly, Dr Najma Najam, Dr Farazana Bari, Dr Aliya Mooen Zafar and Farkhanda Shahmim.-PR
