A total of 338 candidates will contest elections on 12 National Assembly seats in Federally Administration Tribal Areas (Fata). On the 11 May election, a dozens of candidates will fight from four constituencies as compared to last elections in the tribal region. A total of 40 candidates only will contest from constituency NA-36 tribal-I belonging to different political parties or independently in the polls.
According to the data of Election Commission of Pakistan, around 38 candidates from NA-38, 36 each from NA-39 and NA-47, 30 candidates on NA-37 will be face to face against the rivals. Similarly, more than 23 candidates from NA-38, 40 candidates from NA-40, 17 from NA-42, 16 on NA-43, 26 contestants on NA-44, 18 contenders from NA-45, 24 from NA-46 will fight the elections.
On the May 11 election, the tribal region by contesting more than one seat of National Assembly will lead. Similarly, in Frontier Region Kohat, a total of 16 candidates will contest on one constituency NA-44 in the elections. From this constituency, the Pakistan People's Party Parliamentary candidate, Dilawar Khan, Sherhyar Afridi from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khurshid Begum Saeed of Awami National Party, Pir Mohammad Faheem from Jamaat-i-Islami, Gohar Mohammad Khan Bangash form Jamiate Ulema Islam-Fazl, Malik Saad of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and Obaidullah Haideri from Jamiate Ulema Islam will be face to face in the elections.
Other candidates will contest from NA-44, including Sher Rehman Khattak, Abdul Qadeer Khan, Mohammad Nawaz Khan, Nazeeya Zulfiqar, Qaumi Watan Party, Naeebullah Durrani, Shamim Afridi as independent candidate, Dr Mohammad Ihsanullah, Badshah Gul and Asif Iqbal.
According to political experts said that the independent candidate can create difficulties for political parties' contenders despite strong hold of religious parties in the constituency NA-44 Kohat. The political experts said that the tough contest is expected on constituency NA-15 Karak, wherein more than 21 candidates from different political parties will fight on solely National Assembly seat NA-15 from the district.
Those, candidates who are going to contest from this constituency, include Nasir Khan Khattak of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Rahmat Salam Khattak from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Mufti Mohammad Sardar of Jamiate Ulema Islam-Fazl, Mohammad Sharif Khattak from ANPs, Shahjehan Khattak from Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarian, Mohammad Sadiq of Pakistan Tehafuz-e-Pakistan, Maulana Mohammad Tasleem Iqbal from Jamaat-i-Islami and Shah Abdul Aziz of Jamiate Ulem Islam.
Other candidates, who are contesting from the constituency NA-15, include Brigadier (Retd) Sakhi Marjan, Jamal Khan, Rafiullah Khattak, Shehansha, Shahad Mohamamd Khan, Imran Khattak, Mashood Sharif Khattak, Muneer Khan, Altaf Qadar, Altaf Ahmad, Asadullah Shah and Asif Noor.
The political experts said that a tough competition will be expected between candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Jamiate Ulema Islam-Samiullah Haq Group, along with an independent candidate Shamsur Rehman, and Mashood Sharif Khattak on National Assembly seat NA-15 Karak. The experts said anyone of these candidates may upset the election.
