The Karachi Port handled 133,429 tonnes of cargo comprising 104,414 tonnes of import cargo and 29,015 tonnes of export cargo including 5,344 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 104,414 tonnes comprised 49,521 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,664 tonnes of general cargo; 14,379 tonnes of bulk cargo and 27,850 tonnes of liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,015 tonnes comprised 22,174 tonnes of containerised cargo; 701 tonnes of general cargo and 6,140 tonnes of liquid cargo. As many as 5,344 containers comprising 3,414 containers import and 1,930 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Saturday.
The brakeup of imported containers shows 1,107 of 20's and 1,133 of 40's loaded while 41 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 563 of 20's and 409 of 40's loaded containers while 99 of 20's and 225 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There are four ships with two container ships and two oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There are five vessels with two container ships, two oil tankers and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. There are five ships namely APL Sharjah, Rio Bravo, Gulf Elan, Veruda and Al-Jaber-18 with two container ships, one oil tanker, one coal carrier and one general cargo ship respectively are expected to sail on Saturday. There are four vessels viz Rio Charleston, MOL Dignity, Sea Wave and Geniuse Star-II with two container ships, one cement carrier and one wheat carrier respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 85,099 tonnes comprising 62,673 tonnes of import cargo and 22,426 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,240 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 62,673 tonnes includes 36,663 tonnes of furnace oil and 26,010 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 22,426 tonnes includes 2,560 tonnes of cement; 5,449 tonnes of rice; 2,347 tonnes of wheat and 12,070 tonnes of containerised cargo. There is one ship namely MV Topaz-II sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours.
A total number of six vessels viz CV MSC Didem, MV Diamond Sea, MV Sofia, MV Inlaco Accord, MT Al-Salam-II and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, rice cement, diesel oil and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as three ships namely President Jackson, Norgas Challenger and Kiana Pioneer with containers, VCM and rice are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There are two vessels viz CV President Jackson and MV Norgas Challenger with containers and VCM are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Saturday. There are no ships due to arrive on Saturday.
