POF is one of the institutions of the country where enormous schemes are in progress for welfare of the employees. The prominent among them is the scholarship scheme for students who showed excellent performance in their academic career. The main object is to encourage the intelligent students so that they may carry their educational journey with more dedications and hard work and in future they can serve the nation as well as homeland.
These views were expressed by Lieutenant-General Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI (M) Chairman POF Board while addressing the scholarship distribution ceremony held at POF Hotel.
Chairman POF Board further said that the amount being spent on this scholarship scheme has been obtained by the earning received through the hard work of POF employees. POF Chairman hoped that the parents of these students would further improve their performance and perform their duties with dedication so that this organisation could further make progress and amount of scholarship could be enhanced.
He further said that a loan scheme is being launched very soon in which students getting professional education would be given interest free loan. This scheme will begin from University of Wah and Wah Engineering College and it will be further extended to other educational institutions in future. Its main object is to persuade the students to the professional education and create self-respect in them so that they may rely on their own hand instead of stipend. He remarked that a talent show would be organised very soon in which the students who accomplished any important task at country level would be awarded.
Chairman POF Board felicitated students, their parents and teachers who showed magnificent performance in their academic career.
Brigadier Javed Iqbal, Director Admin in his welcoming remarks on this occasion said that POF administration is today distributing Rs 3 million among 580 sons/daughters of POF employees, retired POF employees' sons/daughters, kids of POF employees studying in medical and engineering, the sons/daughters of employees studying in religious educational institutions and the students studying in DAE classes under 10 different schemes who have got prominent position in their respective disciplines. Director Admin further said that the students of Nasheman School for Special Children and the students who performed excellent performance in extra curricular activities have been included first time in the scheme.
Later, Chairman POF Board mingled among students and parents and encouraged their proposals for improvement in various fields of life.-PR
