An Independent candidate, Mujeebur Rehman, contesting election on PK-26 withdrew in favour of PML-N candidate in district Mardan. Speaking at a news conference at Mardan Press Club, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman an independent said he had contested election of ticket PML-N in last election, vowed to continue his struggle of the party as a ideological worker
He, however, said he applied for party ticket for this election, but the ticket was allotted to former provincial minister Iftikhar Khan Mohmand, who recently joined the party. I was depressed over discriminatory attitude in distribution of tickets, and decided to contest election as independently, he informed. Rehman said the PML-N leaders held dialogue for withdrawal in favour of its candidate Iftikhar Khan Mohmand. I eventually taken decision to withdraw in the better interest of the party, he added. He claimed the Mian Nawaz Sharif-led League is only political party to address the masses issues. He assured that if his party voted to power, would resolve all problems on priority basis.
On the occasion PML-N candidate for NA-9 Mardan-I Nawabzada Khawaja Mohammad Khan Hoti, candidate from PK-26 Iftikhar Khan Mohmand, and Inayat Shah Bacha district president of PML-N while welcoming the withdrawal of Mujeeb in favour of the party candidate.
