Corps Commander Golf Cup concludes: Ghazala emerges as outstanding lady competitor

The Corps Commander Cup Golf Tournament has been concluded here at the Garrison Golf Course. Ghazala Yasmeen of the host Garrison Golf Club has emerged as the outstanding lady competitor of the tournament. She carded a round of gross 80 in the first round and a superb gross 76 in the second beating her rivals by a huge margin.
In men's category, the winner was M. Rehman of Royal Palm who showed his class. After a long time, the Pakistani golf scene has witnessed some really decent scores from a lady golfer. "I am very pleased with my score of gross 76 on the final day which was the outcome of regular training sessions, some devoted coaching by M. Asif, a golf professional and sound mentoring by Asma Shami who takes immense interest in my golf game."
Incidentally, Ghazala, unlike many other male champions spends eight hours daily on the golf course practising the short game honing up her driving skills and finding enough stamina to play a round of 18 holes daily. Ghazala is partly supported by the Garrison Golf Club and Punjab Golf Association in her endeavours and hopes that she will get a chance to compete overseas regularly.
