The Karachi Port handled 103,959 tonnes of cargo comprising 65,654 tonnes of import cargo and 38,305 tonnes of export cargo including 6,966 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo comprised 65,654 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 38,305 tonnes comprised 32,461 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,278 tonnes of general cargo; 1,066 tonnes of bulk cargo and 1,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,966 containers comprising 4,491 containers import and 2,475 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The brakeup of imported containers shows 1,847 of 20's and 1,231 of 40's loaded while 18 of 20's and 82 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,018 of 20's and 384 of 40's loaded containers while 105 of 20's and 292 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There are ten ships namely APL Chicago, YM Zenith, Wan Hai-605, TS Jakarta, Al Farahidi, Oriental Lotus, MT Lahore, Spar Lyra, Catamarca and Trader-2 with five container ships, three oil tankers, two general cargo ships and one cement carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There are seven vessels viz Wan Hai-603, TS Jakarta, Al Farahidi, Northern Power, Hanjin Durban, Hyundai General and DL Ace with six container ships and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. There is one ship namely Hanjin Durban with container ship sailed out to sea on Monday, while three ships namely Hyundai General, Wan Hai-603 and Sea Coral with two container ships and one general cargo ship respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
There are four vessels viz Alice Rickmers, Brightoil Legend, Tiger Di and Sea Coral with one container ship, one crude oil tanker, one coal carrier and one general cargo ship respectively due to arrive on Monday, while five vessels viz Fowairet, Kota Gemar, Freedom, Spring Sunshine and Baghdad with two container ships, one vehicle carrier, one steel ship and one rice carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 17,726 tonnes comprising 6,098 tonnes of import cargo and 11,628 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 450 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 6,098 tonnes includes 1,058 tonnes of chemical and 5,040 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 11,628 tonnes includes 1,685 tonnes of rice; 5,533 tonnes of wheat and 4,410 tonnes of containerised cargo. There is one ship namely CV Maersk Chicago with containers is expected to sail on Monday afternoon.
A total number of five vessels viz CV Maersk Chicago, MV Chang Pyuang, MV Kiana Pioneer, MV Veruda and MV Norgas Conception are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, rice, cement and chemical respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as six ships namely Nysted Maersk, Bella-L, Nordic Tianjin, Ginga Falcon, Ginga Caracal and Al-Soor-II with containers, rice, cement, edible oil and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There are two vessels with containers and chemical are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Sunday. There are three ships namely CV Nysted Maersk, MT Ginga Falcon and MT Al-Soor-II with containers, edible oil and diesel oil due to arrive on Monday.
