Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader and former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has sought "decisive approach" from voters on May 11, saying that split mandate would not be beneficial for the country as well as countrymen. While addressing a news conference here Wednesday, the PML-N leader said the nation would draw a line between "good and bad" through their votes on May 11.
"People know well as to which political party has served them well devotedly and which has looted the national exchequer," he said. Shahbaz maintained that there would be no end of darkness from the country, if people vote on May 11 on the basis of emotions. "After a tragic incident in 2007, people voted the PPP on the basis of emotions, which plunged the country into darkness. If people voted other than the PML-N on May 11, it would be considered in favour of the PPP and its allies," he said.
Terming Rehman Malik as a liar, he said the judiciary had already declared those cassettes fake on the basis of which Rehman is propagating. He claimed that negative propaganda of the PPP has led to surge in popularity graph of the PML-N. "If people want end of load shedding, corruption, price hike and unemployment, they must cast vote in favour of the PML-N," he said.
The PML-N leader further said that President Zardari and his cronies have pushed the country into darkness while corruption and poverty gripped the country under him. "People will vote for the PML-N because it has made the country's defence impregnable by conducting nuclear tests and completing unprecedented development schemes such as Metro Bus Service, Motorway, Ghazi-Barotha Hydropower Project and modern airports," he said.
He said, "The PML-N government in Punjab completed several mega projects for the welfare of people, fought dengue virus and rehabilitated flood victims." He alleged that President Zardari is funding a smear campaign against PML-N on the media.
