An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday extended the judicial remand of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in Benazir Bhutto murder case till May 28. While hearing Musharraf's bail application, ATC Judge Chaudhry Habibur Rehman, granted extension in his judicial remand till May 28. Musharraf was not produced before the court by law enforcers because of security concerns.
During the hearing, the court accepted the request of the assistant to Musharraf's counsel to postpone the hearing as Salman Safder, the counsel of Musharraf, was out of the country. Two police officers former City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Saud Aziz and former SP Rawal Town Khurram Shehzad were in the courtroom while five other accused arrested in connection with the case were also not produced before the court.
The court directed Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) to submit complete challan during the next hearing and adjourned hearing in judges' detention case till May 20. During the hearing, Federal Investigation Authority's (FIA) special prosecutor Azhar Chaudhry requested the court to provide him security. On this, the court issued directives to provide security to FIA prosecutor Azhar Chaudhry. This was the first hearing after the main FIA prosecutor handling Bhutto's 2007 murder and the 2008 Mumbai attack cases, Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali, was shot dead in Islamabad on May 3.
