There has been a sharp rise in incidents of snatching of goods loaded trucks in the industrial area of the city since last few weeks and now the criminals are snatching trucks in broad daylight from main roads. Talking to Business Recorder, Chairman Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (Kati) Mohammad Zubair Chhaya had informed that on Wednesday dacoits took away two trucks, one was loaded with chemicals while other with denim from Jam Sadiq Bridge and Veta roundabout in brought daylight respectively.
He said that neither police nor other law enforcing agencies managed to locate goods or trace out the trucks. He said on one hand industries were suffering production losses due to loadshedding, day-to-day strikes and mourning days, while on the other hand criminals were snatching away goods loaded trucks.
He urged the IG police and CCPO to alert police and other law enforcing agencies in that industrial area and keep watch on goods movement to apprehend culprits involved in dacoities trucks, motorcycle and mobile stitching. He further urged him to direct concerned police officials to establish a special police camp on main roads and entrance and exit points, making police contingents for emergency response.
