Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI)led by Imran has emerged as single largest parliamentary party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly followed by JUI-F of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, which had obtained 16 seats.
Similarly, PML-N was emerged as third parliamentary force with 14 seats while independents have surfaced as fourth with 13 seats. Other political parties including QWP and JI have won 7 seats each while ANP and PPP the coalition partners of the last government have won 3 and 2 seats respectively. However, the leadership of PML-N in respect of the mandate of PTI declared that it had first right on the formation of government in the province. The central secretary general of PTI, who has been tasked and nominated by the central leadership for the coveted post of Chief Minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, contacted PPP-Sherpao for support in the formation of provincial government in which he succeeded while Jamaat-e-Islami has also joined hands with PTI for the formation of government in the province. Talking to this scribe, provincial general secretary PTI, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and MPA-elect from PK-2 Peshawar Shaukat Ali Yusufzai claimed that their party had obtained the support of 65 members of the provincial assembly, which is more than the required simple majority.
He said that both Qoumi Watan Party (QWP) and Jamaat-e-Islami with 7 general seats each in the provincial assembly have extended support to PTI in the formulation of government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
