The eye opening results and neck-and-neck fight had stunned the common man generally and particularly political parties on losing the seats of their candidates in the district.
People belonging to various walks of life including business community have expressed their confidence over Election Commission of Pakistan and lauded the efforts for making excellent polling arrangements and providing information about polling stations to the voters via SMS service first time in the history of polling in the country.
Socio-political circles and members of the civil society have also welcomed the high turnout in the election and termed it a step forward for democracy. The high turnout remained at 57. 42 percent by virtue of active participation of women folk especially in rural areas of the district which is a healthy omen they added. It was very surprising that families were split over the casting vote and they cast their votes in favour of different political parties in the district.
The political parties should refrain from blame game and rigging allegations and should respect each other mandate for the larger national interests besides newly elected representatives should refrain from indulging in digging out old issues for the betterment of the masses and bringing out the country from multiple challenges.
