At least eight people were killed in different incidents of violence in the city on Friday, police and rescue source said. In first incident a man was gunned down near Sheesh Mahal stop in Malir in the limits of Saudabad police station. The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Abdul Rasheed, son of Abdul Ghafoor. Police said armed men shot him dead. The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
A man was killed while resisting a robbery bid in Soldier Bazaar area in the jurisdiction of Soldier Bazaar police station. The deceased was identified as 3o-year-old Dilshad. The body was moved to hospital for medico-legal formalities. Two persons, including a woman, were killed and a kid injured in firing by armed men in a house situated in Mianwali Colony Street No 4 Manghopir area, in the limits of Peerabad police station. The victims were identified as Muhammad Shafi, 60, and Bakhti Karam Bibi 55, wife of Noor Muhammad. A boy namely Muhammad Zain was also injured in firing. The bodies were shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities.
Body of a man stuffed in gunny bag was recovered near Kala Pull Bridge, within the limit of Mehmoodabad police station. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet. The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
Body of woman was found near Al-Asif Square in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. Police said that the woman was shot dead. She was identified as 35-years-old Shakila. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem. A man was gunned down by armed men near Nazimabad No 2, in the limits of Nazimabad police station. He was identified as 40-year-old man, Abid, son of Ilyas. The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. The victim belonged to Jamaat-e-Islami and was an ex-UC Nazim, said party sources. A man was killed by armed men near PSO Petrol Pump, Rasheedabad, Baldia Town, in the jurisdiction of Baldia Town police station. He was identified as 45-year-old Manzoor, son of Ismail.
