Taiwan shares closed down 0.26 percent on Friday, taking a pause after reaching a 21-month closing high in the prior session, with Hon Hai Precision Industry and HTC Corp slipping 1.4 percent and 1.7 percent respectively. The main TAIEX index slid 21.86 points to 8,368.19. Electronics shares edged down 0.19 percent, while banking shares lost 0.66 percent. The Taiwan dollar rose T$0.077 to stand at T$29.973 to the US dollar.
