Using his powers, Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Sunday directed officials to restore previous prices of flour in the metropolis so as to provide relief to the citizens. He issued these directives after taking notice of media reports about the raise in flour prices.
The commissioner informed that a new notification had also been issued to enforce the flour prices as fine flour wholesale price Rs36 per kg, retail Rs 38 per kg, flour mill wholesale Rs 33 per kg, retail Rs 34.50 per kg, small chaki wholesale Rs 39 per kg and retail Rs 41 per kg.
The notification issued today will be applicable by May 31, he said. The commissioner directed deputy commissioners to ensure sale of flour at government fixed rates at markets, bazaars and shops.
