Hundreds of activists of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday staged a demonstration against the assassination of Zahra Shahid, Vice-President of PTI's Sindh chapter. More than 200 PTI activists including women vehemently condemned the killing of Zahra Shahid and demanded swift arrest of the culprits. The demo was led by Ijaz Janjua district President and other office bearers. They declared the incident as an act of terror and a mark of failure on part of the provincial government.
They said Imran Khan had requested the government to take action against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain for issuing threatening and provocative statements to incite violence in the country, but the government did not take any action. The demonstrators shouted slogans against the MQM and Sindh Government. PTI also staged demonstration in Bahawalpur, Rahimyarkhan, Vehari, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Jhang, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur and Khanewal to condemn the assassination of a senior leader of PTI in Karachi.
