Power situation remained dismal on Wednesday despite reports of release of Rs 22 billion by the Ministry of Finance. The residents of Mozang, a dense area with majority of PML-N supporters, agitated against unannounced loadshedding in the city. For the first time, the residents of Defence Lahore are also facing six to seven hours a day loadshedding, particularly in the wee hours.
The protestors chanted slogans against the situation, demanding early resolution of power breakdowns. It may be noted that the mercury has reached to 45 degree Celsius in the town amidst sweltering heat and scorching sun. Short supply of generator fuel in the hospital has started causing delays in operations. The citizens are of the view that the question of how the PML-N government overcome the energy crisis carries worth of millions of dollars. Particularly, the industry circles are asking for a tangible work plan on permanent solution to the problem.
