Hydropower generation resources: KP has potential to produce cheap electricity for all: minister

Provincial Caretaker Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Energy & Power, Irrigation and Public Health Engineering Engr Younus Khan Marwat has shown his optimism that hydropower resources are the cheap source of producing electricity, which could be helpful for the solution of current energy crisis in the country.
He was speaking these during a meeting regarding the progress of energy action plan for the development of hydropower resources in KP. Secretary Energy & Power Zaffar Iqbal, Managing Director, SHYDO Engr Bahadur Shah, Chief Planning Officer, Energy & Power Engr. Zainullah Shah, SHYDO's senior directors Engr Farhat Mehmood, Engr Zahid Akhtar Sabri were attended the meeting.
Provincial Minister Engr Younus Marwat briefed about the large, medium and small hydropower projects, which have started through Energy Action Plan in the province. The Provincial Minister showed his satisfaction over the progress of hydropower projects of Energy & Power Department and Pakhtunkhwa Hydel Development Organisation and stated that KP is blessed with the enormous hydropower resources which are not only the cheap source of production of electricity but also could be helpful for boosting up the economy of the province. He praised the efforts of Secretary Energy & Power Zaffar Iqbal and MD SHYDO Bahadur Shah for the development of hydropower resources in the province.
