Former Prime Minister and independent MNA-elect from NA-266 Mir Zafarullah Jamali on Saturday met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and formally announced his decision to join the PML-N unconditionally. During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views over the overall country's political situation and challenges to be faced by the new elected PML-N government.
Sources claimed that views were also exchanged over formation of new government in Balochistan and Mir Zafarullah Jamali gave suggestions to the PML-N President in this regard. Issues pertaining to situation in Sindh also came under discussion during the meeting, the sources said. Mir Zafarullah Jamali stressed the need for forging unity within the Muslim League in particular and other parties in general to address serious problems confronted to the country as well as countrymen.
Jamali who was accompanied by MNA-elect Chaudhry Shahbaz also felicitated Nawaz Sharif on PML-N's victory in the May 11 general elections. Later, talking to reporters Mir Zafarullah Jamali said that electricity loadshedding was the main issue facing Pakistan at present. He said he discussed with the PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif political issues especially the current situation in Balochistan and Sindh. He said the issue of Balochistan could not be resolved by development packages alone rather practical steps are needed to resolve the issues confronted to the people of Balochistan.
He said all the political parties needed to work together to steer the country out of complex challenges posed to the country as well as countrymen. Jamali said Muslim League was the founding party and it could resolve the problems posed to the country by working devotedly and with missionary zeal. Later, Nawaz also visited the residence of former Punjab Governor Khawaja Tariq Rahim in Lahore where he also again met Mir Zafarullah Jamali.
During the meeting, various issues pertaining to formation of new democratic government both at centre and Balochistan and Sindh came under discussion. Political circles are giving much weight age to twice meeting between two former premiers with regard to government formation in Balochistan in particular and centre in general.
