Clerk held on charge of embezzlement

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Monday arrested Khalid Nawaz working as political clerk in the office of Deputy Commissioner (DC)/ Assistant Political Agent (APA) Lakki Marwat allegedly involved in the embezzlement/accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income.
He was produced before the Judge Accountability Court Peshawar, who sent the accused to the judicial lockup. A reference has also been filed in the Accountability Court. The NAB had received a complaint regarding embezzlement/ accumulation of illegal assets against the accused. Consequently, NAB (KP) took cognisance of the matter and ordered an inquiry to ascertain the facts. Initial findings of the inquiry established the allegations as he purchased 80 Kanal of agriculture land, 14 Marla House, 04 Kanal plot in Lakki Marwat besides unexplained bank credits in NBP and HBL.
